Ivon Padilla Hernandez, General Director of the Tu Puedes Guanajuato Finance and Support Agency, met with business leaders and street vendors from San Miguel de Allende, Dolores Hidalgo, and San Luis de la Paz to show them financing options and also to discuss the potential of strategically investing in their businesses.

“Governor Libia Dennise knows that what the people of Guanajuato are looking for is to strengthen their capabilities and increase their competitiveness. That’s why we’re here to offer you the right financing to acquire more and better inventory, allowing you not only to meet your customers’ demands but also to explore new markets,” said the Official.

Padilla explained that the Financial Institution has designed a loan for them, called “We Are With You,” which is specifically aimed at merchants and street vendors from Guanajuato looking to increase their sales.

The amount ranges from 10,000 to 100,000 pesos, with a fixed annual rate of 6.75 percent, up to 78 weeks to repay, and an 8-week grace period. This money can be used to purchase merchandise, supplies, and raw materials, thus facilitating the purchase of more items in less time. This allows for streamlining processes and improving product quality, customer responsiveness, and the services offered.

“For us at this financial institution, it’s important to tell you that credit is not only a financial resource that is very useful in most cases, but also an ally that empowers merchants and street vendors to overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and achieve goals that previously seemed unattainable,” said Padilla.

Merchant and street vendor leaders said that having an additional resource for their businesses, with affordable rates, is like the fuel that will propel their success to new heights.

“First of all, I am very grateful to our Governor for the great support she is giving us, the ease that we now have, because compared to other financial institutions, they are laying everything out on a silver platter, you could say,” said Maria Remedios Mendiola Ibarra, representative of the Dolores Merchants Union, AC.

“It’s very interesting, with a great opportunity. Because they have the chance to invest, have more merchandise, more opportunities. We want people to have a lot of sales, to be motivated, to be happy, to experience personal and family growth, and to be very grateful for the opportunity the Governor is now offering,” said Ana Maria Alvarez Vazquez, leader of Plaza San Miguel in San Miguel de Allende.

Ivon Padilla Hernandez said that the staff at the seven regional branches is fully trained to guide and advise those interested in financing.

The offices are located in the municipalities of:

  • Leon, Celaya, Dolores Hidalgo, Irapuato, Moroleon, San Jose Iturbide, and Silao in the Puerto Interior
