The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, officially launched the “Super Liga de la Salud” program, which adapts local and additional elements of the Federal Government’s “Live Healthy, Live Happy” program in Guanajuato.

This program is designed to promote healthy habits among elementary school students in education institutions, also involving teachers and families to improve nutrition, physical activity, and emotional well-being.

The program promotes comprehensive actions within the school environment to foster a culture of health, incorporating nutritional education, promotion of physical activity, and mental health care.

“I’m very excited to be here with you today because we’re launching a strategy that commits us to working for you, because the most beautiful thing about Guanajuato is its girls and boys. You matter to us, and we want you to have a healthy life,” said Governor Libia Denisse.
Key actions include the implementation of healthy menus; physical activity and sports programs; workshops on balanced nutrition and disease prevention; and campaigns on emotional well-being.
This program will improve nutrition and prevent diseases related to poor diet; increase physical activity and reduce sedentary lifestyles; strengthen students’ emotional and social well-being; and create a culture of health that benefits both the school community and society.

Juan Carlos Montesinos Carranza, President of the Advisory Council of the State DIF System, spoke about the importance of children’s health and promoting healthy lifestyles among Guanajuatense families.
In Guanajuato, under the name “SuperHealth League,” this strategy will be implemented with a unique approach, involving state agencies, Libia Dennise told the children of the Eufrasia Pantoja Elementary School in Leon.

The Director General of the Mexican Social Security Institute, was with the Governor Libia Dennise at the launch of this program. “The main objective is to promote healthy habits and turn schools into spaces for prevention and health promotion,” said the federal official.
School health brigades will also be carried out, focusing on nutrition, oral health, physical activity, and overall well-being.

A total of 136 brigades will be deployed in elementary schools across 46 municipalities.
The launch of the program took place with 20 brigades in six municipalities:
- Celaya, Cortazar, Guanajuato, Irapuato, Leon, and Silao
This strategy highlights the coordination of the Ministry of Health (SEG), State Health, DIF, and CODE to strengthen the strategy, involving parents and teachers.

The Governor of the People and the Director General of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), supervised the progress of the construction of the Guanajuato General Hospital.
The project will benefit beneficiaries in the municipalities of Guanajuato, Dolores Hidalgo, San Luis de la Paz, and San Diego de la Unión.

The hospital, which began construction in December 2023 and is located on Viznaga Street in the Marfil neighborhood of Guanajuato City, will have the specific and necessary equipment to perform various studies and treatments that will be provided to IMSS beneficiaries.
