The People’s Government launches a comprehensive care plan with employment and development opportunities for Guanajuatense migrants from Guanajuato
So far, the Undersecretary for Migrant Assistance has not registered any mass deportations of Guanajuatenses

The Government of the People presented an Assisted Return Plan for Guanajuatenses Migrants, as a cross-cutting effort to assist those who require support in case of deportation from the United States.
“Friends and migrant friends, I am speaking to you with all my heart. We are attentive to your needs, we are not going to leave you alone. We know that these are times of great uncertainty, but know that here you have a Government in Guanajuato that loves you, that is attentive to what you need, that will be accompanying and advising you,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, in the broadcast of the program Connecting with the People.
This plan has a protocol divided into three types of care:
- Advice and support from the United States
- Care at border points where they could be deported to Mexico
- Care in Guanajuato
In this program, Governor Libia Dennise was with Liz Esparza, Secretary of Human Rights, and Susana Guerra, Undersecretary of Attention to Migrants, who made available to the migrant population of Guanajuato the services provided in the liaison houses located in:
- San Antonio, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; Los Angeles, California; and Chicago, Illinois
Through these offices, the People’s Government provides advice and information on immigration matters and links Guanajuatenses abroad with the legal structure of the Mexican consulates, which are responsible for providing legal advice to those who are facing possible deportation.
The Government of the People’s border care consists of monitoring migratory movements to detect the deportation of Guanajuatenses. This action is carried out through the International Migration Observatory.
Likewise, the Sub-Secretary for Migrant Assistance of the State of Guanajuato is coordinating with the Federal Government for the land return of migrants who require support from the border with the United States to their community of origin.

The third point of the strategy includes the work done in Guanajuato to care for migrants, with the regionalization of the municipalities with four temporary shelters (North, South, Center and East of Guanajuato), in addition to the attention of the Guanajuato representative office in Mexico City.
In addition, the website migrantequiero.guanajuato.gob.mx details the actions of this assisted return plan, which includes the issuance of identity documents, job inclusion, health services and support for the family.
Guanajuato offers a series of employment and training programs and opportunities, ranging from a jobs list, employment windows, a Mexico-Canada temporary agricultural worker program, the Chamba para la Gente Program, temporary employment, productive projects, agricultural and livestock equipment, the Financiera y Apoyos Tu Puedes Guanajuato, to training through IECA.
Although the Sub-Secretary for Attention to Migrants of the State of Guanajuato has not yet registered mass deportations of Guanajuatenses, the Government of the People is ready to offer opportunities and development for those who return to their original communities.
