The Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) opened its Aquacinema –first in Latin America-, at the dam La Olla in Guanajuato City.
From the boats
On boats and in the middle of the serenity of the water, visitors and film fans enjoyed the magic of the movies that are presented on a giant screen.
Friday had the world premiere of Danyka by Michael Rowe, and starred by Sasha Gonzalez and the Mexican actor Demian Bichir.
Films a different way
“It’s no doubt that in Guanajuato we Live Great Stories. The GIFF has surprised us again, this year it reinvented itself and it adapted its program in different ways. I wish to congratulate all who have made it posible and have us enjoy the Seventh Art in a whole different way”, said Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato.
Health safety for all
The Aquacinema has a capacity for 30 boats with 4 people in each and it operates with the most strict protocoles of security and hygiene, people must wear face masks and all forms of sanitization and safe distance in order to make it safe for movie goers. The GIFF is the first event of great format to be presented in Mexico with people in place and it is ocurring in Guanajuato, Silao and Irapuato and it offers people extraorinary movies that are presented for the first time in Guanajuato.
