To apply technology in agricultural activities and facilitate the application of agrochemicals, the Guanajuato Secretary of Agriculture delivered eight agricultural drones to producers in Penjamo.
Marisol Suarez Correa, head of the State agency, noted the importance of having a tool like this in field activities, since in recent years it has revolutionized the way traditional tasks are carried out.
“The goal is to use drones to apply fertilizers and foliar pesticides evenly; drones can distribute the product better and can also reach very specific points where tractors cannot reach,” said the Secretary.
The delivery of these supports is part of the strategy of the Government of the People, led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, to apply technology and innovation on crops.
Juan Duarte Castaneda, one of the beneficiaries, thanked the State Government for its support in purchasing this equipment, as “it is no longer a luxury” but rather a primary necessity in the face of the lack of manpower and the ease with which it provides for the proper distribution of agrochemicals.
For the purchase of these drones, the State Government invested $1 million 833 thousand 167 pesos, while the beneficiaries contributed $785 thousand 643 pesos through the Sustainable Reconversion of Agriculture program.
