The Government Secretary, the Secretary of Security and Peace, the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Guanajuato -FGE-, the Secretary of National Defense -Sedena- and the municipality of Apaseo el Grande agreed to reinforce security in the border with Queretaro, and strengthen intelligence work to prevent multiple homicides from happening again, such as the one recorded on the night of Saturday, November 30, in the area known as “El Trebol”, in this town.
During a meeting held this Monday by representatives of the three levels of government at the City Hall of Apaseo el Grande, it was agreed to increase the presence of the three levels of government not only in that municipality, but in all those bordering the state of Queretaro and those that could be the target of reactions by criminal groups in response to positive events and arrests made by local, State Police or Federal Forces.
They also agreed to supervise and reorganize all illegal businesses and those that have to do with the sale of alcohol, “since that is the main focus where criminal groups have been participating in a negative way,” said the Secretary of Security and Peace of Guanajuato, Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez.
In addition, the official announced that a helicopter from the Secretary of Security and Peace will be made available to reinforce air patrols.
Jorge Jimenez Lona, Secretary of Government, stated that under the instructions of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, all necessary support will be provided to operate and reinforce security in this region.
Laureano Carrillo Rodriguez, Brigadier General and Commander of the Celaya Task Force, pledged to deploy more than 300 of his elements and the National Guard to the area, in addition to placing 10 operating bases on the roads and maintaining a fixed post in Trebol of the Apaseos during critical times.
The Secretary of Security and Peace, Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez, asked municipal authorities to intervene with intelligence actions and analyze the information available, such as points of sale and safe houses, to concentrate on the areas with the highest incidence of crime.
The Mayor of Apaseo el Grande, Jose Luis Oliveros Usabiaga, promised that starting this Monday they will begin operations to close bars and cantinas that they already have located, and he asked that the same request be made to the mayors of the region to team up.
