The Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, led the opening ceremony of the XXIX edition of the Guanajuato Agro-Food Expo, an event that promotes sustainability, diversity and economic growth in the agro-food industry in the State.
This Expo is a meeting point for producers, distributors, investors and professionals from the agro-food sector, who share their knowledge, establish strategic alliances and discover the latest trends and technologies in the market.
“This event places Guanajuato at the epicenter of agro-industrial development, being the most important Agro Expo in Mexico and of course a benchmark in Latin America and the world. It has become an emblematic event in the development of the Guanajuato countryside,” said the Governor.
For the Government of the People, the mission is to improve the quality of life of the people of Guanajuato through the development of the agro-food sector, through the technical development, innovation and digitalization of the sector, and the Agro-Food Expo encourages growth and promotes sustainable and competitive development of the agro-food sector at a national and international level.
In this edition organizers are expecting to receive 126,000 participants and more than 650 exhibiting companies, both national and international, from 52 countries.
During the first day of the event, the Governor toured the demonstration spaces of this Expo, divided into:
- An indoor area
- An outdoor area
- An experimental field
- The total surface area is 62 hectares
- Pavilions with different themes
The Hi-Tech Pavilion “Innovatec Aqua 360” presents solutions in water efficiency in agronomic management and advanced technology to optimize water use in agriculture.
The Experimental Field and Greenhouse Zone, an agrobusiness platform, is a lot with 23 medium and high technology greenhouses and 185 plots where fruit trees, vegetables, grains and fodder are produced.
And the South Zone Exhibition Pavilion, where the latest in agricultural machinery, agrochemicals and services that are changing the way food is produced in Mexico and the world are displayed.
The Expo will feature a series of keynote lectures, one of which was presented by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, entitled “Roots of Success; Women in the Countryside”; in this lecture, success stories of women who broke paradigms and gender roles in the agro industry were presented, with female leadership and empowerment.
“For the Government of the People that I am honored to lead, it is very encouraging that this exchange of knowledge and technology takes place in the farms that is one of the most important industries in our State”, said Libia Dennise.
The main objectives of the Government of Guanajuato are to promote a culture of competitiveness in the sector, increase the levels of technification and digitalization, and create programs that have a positive impact on the rural population of Guanajuato”, said the Governor.
The Agro-Food Expo is held in Irapuato from November 12 to 15 under the motto “From the Furrow to the Plate”.
