1,146 elements to ensure security and emergencies at the FIC

Sedena, the National Guard, the Attorney General’s Office, the State Public Security Forces, Health, the Red Cross, and Civil Protection will participate in making the International Cervantino Festival more secure

There will be security actions in the forums before and after each event, as well as air patrols and breathalyzer tests

1,146 elements of the Sedena, National Guard, Attorney General’s Office, police officers from the General Commission of the State Public Security Forces, personnel from the Ministry of Health, Red Cross and Civil Protection, among other institutions and agencies, will guarantee security during the “52nd International Cervantino Festival” that will be held in Guanajuato City, from October 11 to 27.

Authorities were at the Meeting with the Security Commission of the 52 FIC for the implementation of the Operation in matters of Security and Civil Protection at the C5i Facilities, Guanajuato Puerto Interior, in Silao, Guanajuato.

At the meeting, the General Commissioner of the State Public Security Forces, Miguel Angel Torres Duran, said that surveillance and patrol work will be carried out in the places and locations with the greatest influx of visitors, there will be security devices in the forums, aerial surveillance and a breathalyzer operation.

A total of 173 units, 145 patrol cars, 14 ambulances, 5 fire engines, one rescue unit and eight four-wheelers will be used during the “52nd International Cervantino Festival”.

Luis Antonio Guereca Perez, State Coordinator of Civil Protection, reported that there will be prior inspections of temporary structures and security actions in the forums, as well as supervision during the events.

Also, at the Meeting with the Security Commission of the 52nd FIC, it was agreed that through the State System C5i, the installation and operation of the Operations Center with its Command Center will be operated to coordinate actions before, during and after the events starting at 10 am of October 10.

The Secretary of Health will monitor food quality and health risks, in addition to performing spraying operations in forums and public areas to prevent dengue, influenza and Covid19.

During the International Cervantino Festival, weekly meetings will be held to analyze, coordinate and monitor the results and activities among all participating entities.
