The Secretary of Health of Guanajuato, Ligia Arce Padilla, participated in the 6th. Gloss of the Government Report as part of the Quality of Life Axis directed by the Secretary of Social and Human Development.

The Secretary guaranteed the supply of medicines in 631 medical units, last year alone more than 6 million medicines were delivered and the low percentage that did not exist was supplied with a voucher that can be exchanged at an authorized pharmacy.

A timely follow-up is offered to medical concerns with full adherence to Human Rights in the care of Guanajuato women.

Regarding childhood obesity the Secretary highlighted that through the cardio-metabolic diseases program in the Health System, screening is carried out to promptly diagnose people with obesity or other comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia.

Mutual help groups are promoted for patients with obesity and other comorbidities in which educational interventions are carried out that promote the acquisition of healthy habits and the control of conditions.

Comprehensive obesity care is offered in medical specialty units for chronic diseases in Celaya, Irapuato and Leon with a network of professionals who make up multidisciplinary teams for the comprehensive care of patients in the 46 municipalities.

During 2023, 925,100 vaccines were applied, in addition to effective medical care for people potentially exposed to the rabies virus with the application of post-exposure prophylactic treatment, ensuring that there are no cases or deaths due to human rabies transmitted by dog, cat or other wild species.

For the northeastern area of ​​Guanajuato there are 53 medical units with a traveling team and in 11 of them with first-level dental care, pregnancy consultation, public health actions such as nutrition and monitoring of children, epidemiological surveillance as a predominant factor; in addition to a network of services for patient referral between hospitals throughout the state.
