On the occasion of the 380th Anniversary of the Foundation of the city of Salvatierra, a spectacular civic-military parade was held through the main streets of the historic center of this city.
Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, representing Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, celebrated this day with German Cervantes Vega, Mayor of Salvatierra, and his wife Andrea Morales Ruiz; Enrique Garcia Jaramillo, Brigadier General DEM; and Rogelio Garcia Perez, State Coordinator of the National Guard in Guanajuato.
This parade included the participation of contingents from the cities of Yuriria, Moroleon and Santiago Maravatio, the Technical Secondary School Number 2, the University of Guanajuato headquarters Janicho, the Hutzil folkloric ballet, the Ixchel Dance Studio Arabic dance academy, the cavalry groups from SEDENA, charro groups from Rancho El Mezquite and Real de Salvatierra, firefighters, Red Cross and Civil Protection.
Noted was the participation of Buhos Marching Band from Xalapa, Veracruz, with more than 285 members including musicians and dancers who were the ones who brought the party atmosphere to the city.
Later, on the esplanade of El Carmen, the people of Salvatierra and tourists enjoyed the presentation of the big three: Eugenia Leon, Guadalupe Pineda and Tania Libertad.
Salvatierra is located in the Guatzindeo Valley, a name of indigenous etymology that means “place of beautiful vegetation.” It was the first community to be elevated to the category of city in this region of Guanajuato, in the year 1644.
Today, Salvatierra, the Magic Town of Guanajuato since 2012, offers tourists a great diversity of attractions, products and tourist spaces that preserve its cultural, architectural, gastronomic and historical wealth.
