The State of Guanajuato delivers support to corn producers
Valle de Santiago/Gto News
The Government of Guanajuato fulfills its commitment to help women and men in the farms when they face difficult times, therefore, this week State Officials delivered the economic support promised to corn producers who received a low price for the sale of their harvest.
Paulo Banuelos Rosales, Secretary of Agro-Food and Rural Development of Guanajuato, presided over the first delivery with the Mayor of Valle de Santiago Alejandro Alanis, at the facilities of the Valle Irrigation Module.
The support of $300 pesos per ton harvested and marketed was given to 292 producers affiliated with three organizations:
- Sociedad Cooperativa Modulo Valle
- Bastion of Granero del Bajio
- Union de Ejidos 16 de Abril
The producers reported and proved the marketing of 14,123 tons of corn, so the total payment for them was $4,233,867 pesos.
Paulo Banuelos highlighted the commitment of Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo to this cause, since it has been a priority for the State to promote the countryside and address emergencies to move forward.
“It has been a sensitive and attentive Government, whenever the Governor is asked for help, he comes forward for the women and men of the farms because that is how it should be, we are here to serve you,” said the Secretary.
He recalled that just as happened with the wheat producers who were paid $200 pesos per ton harvested and marketed, the State Government has delivered the support unlike the federal government which has not yet helped farmers.
Mayor Alejandro Alanis also recognized the great support that this sector has received from the State, with which it has been possible to multiply the resources to support the countryside.
Previously, Secretary Paulo Banuelos and Mayor Alejandro Alanis delivered 335 productive supports from the Mi Familia Productiva y Sustentable program, including nixtamal and forage mills; hermetic silos; tortilla modules, poultry packages, tankers among other supports that will boost the family economy.
This was a second delivery of the total agreed, in which $8 million 604 thousand 908 pesos were invested; of which the SDAyR and the Municipality contributed $3 million each and the beneficiaries $2 million 604 thousand 908 pesos.
