The Governor of the State, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, handed over the replacement works of the Primary Health Care Medical Unit (UMAPS) in the Valle de Los Castillos neighborhood.
The investment in this project was for 17.4 million pesos to benefit 14,406 people without social security in 16 locations in the Los Castillos industrial borough in Leon.
“Because we already know that there is nothing more important than life and health, and with this new Unit, we reaffirm our commitment to you and your children. This is a unit that looks like a mini hospital that has everything to care for their families with quality and warmth”, said the Governor.
The substitution works were carried out by the Secretary of Infrastructure, Connectivity and Mobility –SICOM-, in a lot of 2 thousand 447 square meters. The covered area was 565 square meters and the exterior work was 710 square meters.
The works began with the demolition of the old medical unit, and then the construction of the new building began, it has three general medicine offices, a dental office, a waiting room, a support center, a clinical file room, a drug sub-warehouse, multipurpose room, immunizations and restrooms.
It also has a treatment room, sterilization area and an observation room for patients in transit with a restrooms.
In outdoor areas there is a Biological-Infectious Hazardous Waste warehouse, parking for staff and users, as well as gardens.
Guanajuato is the State in Mexico that has the most certified units before the General Health Council, with seven spaces of this type and more than 500 units that are being reaccredited, through a quality audit, of financing sources, indicators of dignified treatment of patients.
Practically 100% of the hospitals, UMAPS, have this certification translated to show that they have enough medicines, they have complete medical equipment with corrective and preventive maintenance and there is user satisfaction.
