Huanimaro successfully completed the 2nd. edition of the Tequila Festival with some 2 thousand visitors, who tasted and purchased the product.
The Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, through the Directorate of Tourism Products, made synergy with Huanimaro and the tourism sector to promote the “Huaní” tequila brand that is produced in the municipality, Corralejo and Campotoro tequilas were also promoted.
Within a family atmosphere, artisan mezcal producers presented their products, they were:
- El Rico, Pasiones del Alma, La Pichecua; and craft beer producers like Mi Pueblito and Durko
Guanajuato has 7 municipalities in its territory that have Certificate of Origin of Tequila -geographical indication used in a product that has a specific geographical origin, whose qualities, reputation and characteristics are essentially due to its place of origin- and they are:
- Abasolo, Manuel Doblado, Cueramaro, Huanimaro, Penjamo, Romita and Purísima del Rincon
Guanajuato has a registry of more than 36 thousand hectares of blue agave production, distributed in these 7 municipalities.
This year, the Tequila Festival enriched its program with the participation of artisans who carve masks made of Patol, ribbon embroidery, leather goods, pottery, producers of traditional sauces, herbs, and regional sweets.
The gastronomy could not be left out of this second edition and the traditional cooks delighted the visitors in the event.
In addition, the attendees -mainly from Abasolo, Penjamo, Irapuato and Leon- enjoyed and learned in the didactic workshops of experiences alluding to the subject of distillates and Mixology preparation.
