Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, led the state launch of the SIGO GTO Transportation Application.
“With this state launch, we are keeping our word, to bring order to the service, fair prices, reasonable profits and taking care of the safety of passengers”, said the Governor.
“And something very important: we are doing it with innovation and with a vision of the future, because we are using technology to put it at the service of society,” said Rodriguez Vallejo.
Today, after three months of tests in the Region, the state launch of SIGO GTO is made, it consolidates Guanajuato as a national leader and pioneer in the launch of a private transport and taxi application, with unique characteristics.
It has two great advantages for users and operators:
- Better prices and it implies more security
SIGO GTO arises in compliance with a reform to the Mobility Law of June 3, 2022, where the figure of the executive service evolved; however, the Supreme Court of the Nation establishes that, in this case, the Government of the State of Guanajuato must govern security. That is to say, although these platforms are released, there must be control.
SIGO GTO aims to regulate safety and generate better opportunities for drivers, both taxi and private service, as well as new alternatives for users.
“We do not charge the taxi driver a commission for the trip, what we want is for our taxi driver to do better, to have more cash in the bag so they can take food home, but we also want the user not to be burdened so much. This is a win, win, for the user and for the operator”, expressed Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.
Besides the drivers the App also incorporates those who request the service, provided they are registered with the private transport service.
SIGO GTO has security mechanisms for users and operators such as monitoring to respond to emergencies; they can share location in real time; it has a security button to report any situation on the trip.
The operation of this App started with Libya Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, today Secretary of Social and Human Development, while the results of this piloting were presented by Jesus Oviedo Herrera, head of the Secretary of Government of the State of Guanajuato.
“Our application has security mechanisms for users and operators, and I want to highlight some of them in terms of security:
24/7 monitoring in coordination with the C-4 of the municipalities, C-5 of the State Government and the Center for Monitoring of the General Directorate of State Transport, to deal with any emergency situation”, said Oviedo.
“You can share the location in real time; the application has an alert button service to report any situation that arises during the trip”, said Oviedo.
SIGO GTO is a program that seeks to support up to 333 taxi operators who are between 18 and 65 years of age and who have units dating from 2015 or earlier.
Moises Gomez Lopez, Mauricio Antonio Villegas Martinez, M. Lourdes Perez Olvera, Yolanda Perez Lara, Hugo Alberto Quiroga Macias and Jaime Flores Espino each received credits of up to 300,000 pesos.
Present in the event were leaders of other taxi organizations; Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini, State Secretary of Public Security, and other City and State Officials.
