More than 100 Mexican wine labels, including some from Guanajuato, will be tasted at the 8th. Edition of the Tinto Bajio Festival, an event in the wine segment that will be held in the beautiful gardens of the Hotel Hotsson, in Leon.
Six chefs will be present and will delight with gastronomy that includes seafood, paellas, pizzas and roasts, mainly. In addition, visitors will find a selection of gourmet products to satisfy the demanding palate.
Yunuen Stephanie Jimenez Mejia, Director of Public Relations, on behalf of Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato; with Yazmin Quiroz Lopez, General Director of Hospitality and Tourism; and Lorena Succar Velazquez, organizer of the event; informed about this festival that will be held on June 10 and 11.
With the motto “Emotions to the last drop”, Tinto Bajio -backed by the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato and by the General Directorate of Hospitality and Tourism of Leon- is made by experts who are passionate about wine culture, offering visitors a wide selection of wines and, in addition, they will discover the latest news in the national wine market and will benefit from preferential prices, whether buying a bottle or complete cases.
Tinto Bajio began in 2014 and since then, it has positioned itself as a traditional event in Leon, pampering visitors with live music, free tasting, gastronomy, a welcome kit and, for children, a children’s area to have fun while adults enjoy the experience.
“Wine houses are very interested in this market due to the number of inhabitants in the city of Leon and, of course, the excellent geographical location which opens the doors for their products to reach many cities in the region. In this event, the exhibitors show their project, their wine and new products”, pointed out Lorena Succar.
The wine segment is one of the main tourist themes of Guanajuato, “Land of Wines”. Today, Guanajuato is the fourth national wine producer and Guanajuato labels have been recognized in the most important contests in the sector.
SECTUR strengthens the sector with the creation of the Valle de la Independencia Wine Route, a project that brings together more than 100 establishments of the value chain in the northern part of the state (first stage) making wine an integrating product to strengthen the tourist activity of Guanajuato.
The event:
- On Saturday the doors will open at 1pm (to broadcast the Champions League final) and finish at 8pm
- On Sunday the event starts at 2pm and ends at 7pm
