Prosecutors refine strategies to face crime and impunity in the Western Region of Mexico

Prosecutors from Aguascalientes, Colima, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacan, Nayarit and Queretaro participated in the 2nd Ordinary Session of the National Law Enforcement Conference

The Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, led the opening ceremony of the Second Ordinary Session 2022 of the Western Zone of the National Law Enforcement Conference, a collegiate body in charge of generating strategies, actions and policies necessary to combat crime and investigate crime.

“In order to fulfill our responsibility as an authority, we require a work scheme that favors institutional collaboration and the coordination of actions, because to investigate crime and to face crime there should be no borders, but a coordinated work in which respect for autonomy always prevails”, said the Governor of Guanajuato.

“Therein lies the importance of this group, as the body in charge of generating strategies, actions and policies necessary for the pursuit of justice, the investigation of crime and the fight against impunity,” said Rodriguez Vallejo.

The celebration of this meeting is part of the 2nd ordinary session of the current year of the Western Zone, made up of the states:

• Aguascalientes, Colima, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacan, Nayarit and Queretaro

Among the topics that comprise the agenda to be discussed by the attendees, are:

• The Comprehensive Platform for the Location of Missing Persons
• The National Forensic Data Bank
• The Collaboration Mechanism for Obtaining Information from Police Institutions on Gender Violence
• The Investigation Protocol of the National Police and Civic Justice Model

Also they discussed topics like:

• The National Statistical System of Law Enforcement
• The National Census of State Attorney General 2022
• The Dialogue with the National Guard
• The Strategic Capabilities for the Strengthening of Specialized Units in the Fight against Kidnapping
• The Procedure for Securing Bank Accounts
• The National Law Enforcement Conference is formed by:
• The Federal Attorney General
• The State Attorney Generals
• The Technical Secretary

Participating as permanent guests are:

• The Attorney General of Military Justice
• The Executive Secretary of the National Public Security System

The Attorney General of the State of Guanajuato acts as the representative of the Western Zone of the National Conference of Law Enforcement.
