The Secretary of Health maintains close active epidemiological surveillance in this pandemic. Unfortunately, 15,115 Guanajuato residents have lost their lives to this disease since the health contingency began, which is why efforts to apply timely detection are even greater. At this time, positivity is close to 70% of the total samples that are taken in the 46 municipalities, that is, 7 out of ten people who take a test are positive for coronavirus, reported the Secretary of Health, Daniel Alberto Diaz Martinez.
Martinez informed that 10% of patients who have had a severe form of coronavirus have suffered Long Covid, and the State Health System has no patients in some type of pulmonary rehabilitation. Martinez said that so far there is no news of new shipments of vaccines to Guanajuato for boys and girls and they are waiting for news from the Federal Government to restart vaccination. Luis Carlos Zuñiga, director of Protection against Sanitary Risks, informed that the vaccination system in Mexico is still federalized for the vaccines against Covid, so there are no private sale of jabs. Dr. Pablo Sanchez Gastelum, general director of Public Health in a virtual press conference, urged Guanajuato citizens over 18 years old who have never been vaccinated or have incomplete plans to go to vaccination post to protect themselves against Covid 19 because there is availability of Cansino vaccines.
Watch against contagion
In the last 24 hours 2,021 new cases of contagion and 2 deaths caused by Covid 19 were reported by State and Health Authorities. Contagion is being watched in Guanajuato and cases of contagion reported are over 2,000 in the last 24 hours, while there were 2 deaths reported. Authorities maintain the color of activities in the GREEN easing restrictions on activities, both leisure and work.
State Health Authorities insist that Guanajuato should maintain health protection.
