commitment to defend and support the shoe-leather industry
Our State confirms that it is a national and internartional development center, with attraction of investments and generation of Jobs, showing its greatness in opposition to the zero growth of the national economy

In moments of economic crisis among the zero development of Mexico, Guanajuato shows its greatness with the attraction of investments and the generation of jobs, said Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, the Governor of the State of Guanajuato, as he inaugurated the 82nd Edition of Sapica.
“Guanajuato is a State where there is investment in industrial parks, in plants, we are still generating jobs, we are here standing, that is Guanajuato and that is greatness”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“Sapica has today a great opportunity in the midst of the critical situation in China after the coronavirus outbreak, for the shoes from Guanajuato to surge in this fair as a great opportunity of sales and trade, they must know about the quality of the Guanajuatense shoes, an industry that has bet on design and innovation”, said the Governor.
The Governor, insisted in his commitment of support to entrepreneurs in the sector shoe-leather, because it represents a 10 per cent of the GDP of the State.
“They have our support and the help of the State Government, we are allies, we are a team, and we will not stop fighting for the shoe industry to maintain as a referral in the country”, said the Governor.
“Today, contrary to the national economy that is stuck, we must be daring and go out to the world, and sell our State”, he said.
In the national and international context the shoe-leather industry has opportunities that must be used, since in 2019, the scenary was of uncertainty with the imminent end of the decree that put an end to tariffs on imports of shoes and leathers.
“They listened to us, there was sensibility from the Federal Government towards the problem and by the end of October we received two good news: the publication of the decree that confirmed that tariffs would not be lowered and the decree that will be in force until 2024”, recalled the Governor.
“We should recognize the sensibility and support shown by the Mexican Government, to maintain certainty in the shoe, textile and dressmaking sectors, and support the internal market”, insisted Rodriguez Vallejo.
“This way, with the support of the three levels of Government and the participation of entrepreneurs, the shoe industry can see towards the future with certainty and work to face new challenges, since there is no growth in the national economy”, noted the Governor.
“That is why now is the moment to bet more than ever to innovation and design, we have within our reach the support of important centers of innovation and technological development here in Guanajuato”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
