With the presence of the head of the Secretary of Infrastructure, Connectivity and Mobility -SICOM-, Tarcisio Rodriguez Martinez and the Rector of the Virtual University of the State of Guanajuato -UVEG-, Ricardo Narvaez Martinez, a collaboration agreement was signed, through which 60 Community Telebachilleratos of that education institution will be provided with broadband internet.
The agreement establishes that UVEG will contribute 1.5 million pesos in resources with which the necessary equipment will be acquired for SICOM to carry out the installation, configuration, commissioning and maintenance of said equipment, with which there will be a maintenance service. broadband internet on school campuses.
Rodriguez Martinez said that internet service will be provided with a speed of 40 Mbps synchronously, which will make possible chat sessions, shared screen and whiteboard sessions, as well as videoconferences, to be carried out in the school buildings without technical difficulties, to facilitate the education tasks of the UVEG.
The head of SICOM said that, since 2019, the agency he heads has led the Digital Gap Reduction Program; Rodriguez added that the Government of Guanajuato is clear that promoting digital connectivity is reflected in the economic and social progress of Guanajuato families.
Ricardo Narvaez Martinez, Rector of UVEG, said that this agreement with SICOM will allow thousands of students who until today were disconnected from the world as they had no internet, to be able to access a large number of fundamental technological tools to promote their learning.
Narvaes said that, thanks to this agreement, there will now be 288 Telebachilleratos and 11,751 connected students, that is, 81% of the students who study their upper secondary education at the UVEG, which represents a significant advance, promoted by this strategic alliance with the SICOM.
These actions connect more young students with the technological tools found on the Internet, they also contribute to the consolidation of Guanajuato as the Valley of Mindfacture, said the head of SICOM, Tarcisio Rodriguez Martinez.
