Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo and the Mayor of Leon, Hector Lopez Santillana, announced an investment for more than 5 thousand million pesos in public infrastructure for 2020.
A better city
“This is construction of infrastructure to keep doing of Leon, a better city, more respectable, more human, a city that provides its citizens better basic services, education, health and social development, also better streets, highways, parks and plazas”, said Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.
“The mayor and the families of Leon are not alone, as the Governor of Guanajuato I insist in my commitment with the City; a commitment to maintain the support and to help all Guanajuatenses”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
Over Federal cuts
The Governor noted that even though there were big Federal Budget cuts in all programs like construction of insfrastructure, economic development and in the attention to the Covid 19 pandemic, Guanajuato has done a good job with State resources, cutting on State expenses and with resources from the credit authorized by the State Congress.
The Governor and the Mayor described some of the public works of infrastructure to be made in Leon, and said they will be of great help and will provide a good service for Leoneses.
“In this program of actions, the State Government is investing 2,358 million pesos in Leon, these are necessary actions, some are even urgent and they will help this city go on being the great city it is”, said the Governor.
Team work
Hector Lopez Santillana, the Mayor of Leon, thanked the State Government for its commitment with the Municipality for the 2020 program of Public Infrastructure.
“If there is something we do good in Guanajuato, that is working together as a team, society, entrepreneurs and Government, to go on; today more than ever we need to keep united, because the future of Leon and Guanajuato, does not only depend of the Government, but it depends on the participation of its citizens”, said Lopez Santillana.
Jobs for many
The President of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry in Guanajuato, Francisco Javier Padilla Guerrero, praised the work of the State and the City of Leon, since with this kind of programs they support the reactivation of the construction industry, which was really affected by the health and economic crisis.
“The investment in boulevards, streets, public areas and all kinds of construction of infrastruture in many sectors, will bring direct benefits to citizens and jobs for many in the sector”, said Padilla Guerrero.
