With a call for unity and business collaboration within the prosperity ecosystem of Guanajuato, the Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, inaugurated the third edition of Expo Construcción 2025 (EPC).
In her speech, the Secretary noted that the economy and production in Guanajuato continue to move forward despite the macroeconomic challenges facing the business sector.
Villasenor said that the People’s Government, headed by Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, is working to strengthen the industry through strategic connections and alliances between chambers and business organizations, creating an “economic turbine” that drives the development of Guanajuato.
“I am happy to be in this expo. I am passionate about supplier expos from all sectors because they represent the ecosystem of prosperity. Here I see companies that started small, that today have their own industrial buildings, access to credit and are already a Marca Guanajuato,” said Villasenor Aguilar.
For this edition, an economic impact of more than 130 million pesos is expected, the participation of 90 exhibitors and the attendance of more than 4 thousand people, reflecting the strength and dynamism of the construction sector in Guanajuato.
The construction industry in Guanajuato is consolidating as a fundamental pillar of the economy of the State, with sustained growth in job creation and production value.
According to official figures, as of November 2024, the sector registered 76,622 formal jobs, an increase of 2.2% compared to the previous year. In terms of investment, the total value of production reached 15,510 million pesos, with a growth of 9%, driven by both the private sector and public investment.
In this last area, State-financed construction grew by 31.4%, with an investment of 5,437 million pesos, reflecting the commitment to infrastructure and economic development.
These data confirm the trust of the private sector in Guanajuato as a growth hub. With rising employment and greater investment in public works, the State is moving forward in consolidating a competitive environment that strengthens its role in the national economy.
In a cross-cutting action of the State public administration, the Secretary of Public Works of Guanajuato reaffirms its commitment to strengthen the construction sector through investment in public infrastructure, to continue increasing employment in 2025.
