GIFF expects more than 20 thousand people in its 25th anniversary

In the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF), the attendance of 20,368 Guanajuato residents and visitors is expected, according to the organizing committee.
From July 21 to 31, the GIFF will offer:
- Fiction, documentary, animation, experimental and virtual reality feature films and short films in Leon, San Miguel de Allende and Irapuato
The sites of the GIFF have architectural gems, ancient and avant-garde theaters and museums, and imposing scenery.
The Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato estimates the arrival of more than 31 thousand tourists to hotels in the 3 destinations, with an average hotel occupancy of 37%; and an economic spending of 5.4 million pesos, generated by the attendees of the event.
The Festival will be held:
- From 21 to 24 in the city of Leon, with activities at the Bicentennial Theater, the Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato, the Sculpture Garden, Mateo Herrera Auditorium, Paruno Central de Musica, Teatro Estudio, UG Jorge Ibargüengoitia Auditorium and Cinemex Stadium
- From July 25th to 28th in San Miguel de Allende at the Santa Ana Theater, Ignacio Ramirez El Nigromante Cultural Center and Cinemex Luciernaga
- From July 28th to the 31st in Irapuato at the City Theater, House of Culture, Salvador Almaraz City Museum, Irekua Park and Hotel Hotsson

- 68 Mexican premieres
Attendees will witness a tribute to the career of actress Adriana Barraza, nominated for an Oscar for Babel, who will celebrate 50 years of artistic career. There will also be a tribute to Blanca Guerra and Monica Lozano, women in film and TV.
