SSPE, in coordination with the 46 municipalities, will deploy a security and surveillance operation in 326 cemeteries of Guanajuato
State and Municipal security corps, as well as emergency groups, supported by 1,218 units, will participate in the operation

In order to maintain order and safeguarding the security of people who go to the cemeteries in Guanajuato, the State Public Security Secretary –SSPE- will be deployed in coordination with the Federal authorities and with the 46 Municipalities, a security and surveillance operation on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Dead.
The operational deployment will take place from October 31 to November 2, in 326 pantheons of Guanajuato and will have a force composed of:
- 20,031 security elements
- From the civil protection areas
- Emergency corps
- Support groups
- 1,218 vehicles including patrols, first response units, motorcycles, cranes, ambulances, motor pumps, scale trucks, tankers, and rescue units
- Helicopters equipped with the latest technology for video surveillance, in order to complement ground-air operations
The SSPE, through the different divisions of the State Public Security Forces, provides support and surveillance work with Federal and Local corporations, in the facilities and perimeters of cemeteries.
While the State Coordination of Civil Protection will do the same together with the municipal Civil Protection units, the Emergency System of the State of Guanajuato, the Red Cross delegations and the Fire Departments.
In this sense, the State Coordination of Civil Protection issues the following recommendations:
- Avoid crowds
- Locate evacuation routes
- Establish meeting points with your family in case you get separated
- Take care of minors, older adults, people with disabilities and pregnant women
- Avoid walking on flagstones or tombstones
- Stay away from open or abandoned graves
- Use wet sand in vases instead of water to prevent the proliferation of mosquitoes
- Follow the instructions of the municipal authorities
To expand the safety and security conditions for people who go to the cemeteries, electrical and LP gas installations in street stalls will be inspected; and emergency medical services and transportation will be provided if necessary.
