Physical Momentum, the theater company, one of the vanguard groups in experimentation and exploration of new coreography languages in Guanajuato is preparing to celebrate its 15th anniversary with a series of presentations and formative activities.
In Third Person
The group created and directed by Francisco Cordova will go on tour in different municipalities starting February 12 to present their “In Third Person” play and will offer a cycle of training in residence in the Center of the Arts of Guanajuato starting February 21.
Both activities are supported by the System of Support for the Creation and Cultural Projects of the Secretary of Culture, coordinated with the State Institute of Culture.
Philosophical variables
“In Third Person” is a play that presents the philosophical variables of our identity, that is, it leads one to speak about oneself through the other’s perspective. The play was launched first in 2013 in Barcelona, Spain and it has been presented in many events like Tanzmesse, in Germany; Iberoamerican Circuit of the Network of Alternative Halls, in Spain and in the Market of Scenic Arts ENARTES, in Mexico.
In street format
The play will be adapted for the first time to a street format in Tarandacuao, San Felipe and Valle de Santiago and it will maintain its on stage format to visit the forums of the Theater of the City of Purisima -February 15-; Angela Peralta in San Miguel de Allende –February 16-; Auditorio Eduardo Antonio Tresguerras -February 17- and Theater of the City of Irapuato –February 19-.
The in residence training:
- February 21st to March 5th, 10am to 13pm in Salamanca.
The training will be divided in Body Action, a practice based in the construction of physical actions and laboratory of improvisation which will be presented by Francisco Cordova; they will also present the Street Protocol, a construction with Bboying (break dance) tools and contemporary dance presented by Maximiliano Corrales.
Movement Research
There will also be a course focused in the creative movement, its goal is to listen, transform and organize the body experience called -Movement Research- by Paola Madrid, and the last part of the cycle is dedicated to the Creative Potential, which offers a physical and emotional training that leads to an active meditation and a point of balance between the weight and the ground, it will be presented by Alfonso L. Aguilar.
Well positioned
After being present in many reunions and festivals, the director Francisco Cordova has positioned himself within the national and international scenic markets as an intepreter, a choreographer and a pedagogue.
As a performer Cordova has been a member of many companies and projects through 2 decades.
Body-Action
In 2006 he created his methodological proposal Body-Action where he has offered many workshops in well known festivals, institutions, schools and international arts centers.
